求一个关于有关生命和死亡句子的英文翻译

Question

很久以前，走在路上时就经常会构想这么一个句子“惟有死亡让人了解生命的真谛，惟有死亡”，于是就想把它翻译成英文，可是我英语水平相当烂，只是单纯的喜欢看看英文格言而已，而且这句话好象又不能算对。
最近因为那个33岁年轻司机去世，我又想到“死亡可能使一个人的价值升华”或者说是“死亡让更多的人了解到一个人的价值”，因为这个司机用他的死亡换来了一车乘客的安全，并用死将他的精神传播出去。
再联想到很多文学家艺术家，作品都是在其死后才被人发现，死仿佛赋予了原本的作品或者精神一种更强大的魅力。
实在无聊，就想造句“惟有死亡让人了解生命的意义，而我所能给你的也惟有死亡”，特来求翻译，希望把“我所能给你的”放后面，来修饰死亡。
好象很无聊，并不一定要按照我的句子翻译，因为并不是人人都同意这个观点，我自己也是模糊想出来，真理是要探索的嘛~~希望大家能把有关生命死亡的格言拿出来，如果认同上面那个观点的，辛苦翻译一下。
希望大家在有生之年，闲暇的时候偶尔对自己的生命做一些思考，更好的在活着的时候发光发亮。
