Do not Go Gentle into That Good Night

by Dylan Thomas (1914-1953)

Do not go gentle into that good night.
Old age should burn and rave at close of day.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light:

Though wise man at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
They frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men, who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze likemeteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

龙钟之年在日落时光也要燃烧并痛斥;

When you are old(爱情感人诗歌经典中的经典)
Yeats

When you are old and gray and full of sleep,
And nodding by the fire,take down this book,
And slowly read,and dream of the soft look,
Your eyes had once,and of their shadows deep.

How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true,
But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face.

And bending down beside the glowing bars,
Murmur,a little sadly,how love fled,
And paced upon the mountains overhead,
And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.

神色柔和,眼波中倒影深深;

爱你渐衰的脸上愁苦的风霜;

Oh, Captain! My Captain!
---By Walt Whitman

Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done,
The ship has weather'd every rack, the prize we sought is worn,
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring;
But O heart! heart! heart!
O the bleeding drops of red!
Where on the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.

O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells;
Rise up--for you the flag is flung--for you the bugle trills,
For you bouquets and ribbon'd wreaths--for you the shores crowding,
For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning;
Here, Captain! dear father!
This arm beneath your head;
It is some dream that on the deck
You've fallen cold and dead.

My Captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still,
My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse or will;
The ship is anchor'd safe and sound, its voyage closed and done;
From fearful trip the victor ship comes in with object won;
Exult, O Shores! and ring, O bell!
But I, with mournful tread,
Walk the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.

啊, 船长!我的船长!可怕的航程已完成;

啊, 船长!我的船长!起来吧,倾听钟声;
起来吧,号角为您长鸣,旌旗为您高悬;
迎着您,多少花束花圈----候着您,千万人蜂拥岸边;
他们向您高呼,拥来挤去,仰起殷切的脸;

我的船长不作声,嘴唇惨白,毫不动弹;
我的父亲没感到我的手臂,没有脉搏,没有遗言;
船舶抛锚停下,平安抵达;航程终了;

With Rue My Heart Is Laden

With rue my heart is laden
For golden friends I had,
For many a rose-lipt maiden
And many a lightfoot lad.

By brooks too broad for leaping
The lightfoot boys are laid;
The rose-lipt girls are sleeping
In fields where roses fade.

--A.E.Housman

If by life you were deceived

Don't be dismal,don't be wild

In the day of grief,be mild

Merry days will come believe

Heart is living in tomorrow

Present is dejected here

In a moment,passes sorrow

That which passes will be dear

Down by the sally garden

Down by the salley gardens my love and I did meet;
She passed the salley gardens with little snow-white feet.
She bid me take love easy, as the leaves grow on the tree;
But I, being young and foolish, with her would not agree.
In a field by the river my love and I did stand,
And on my leaning shoulder she laid her snow-white hand.
She bid me take life easy, as the grass grows on the weirs;
But I was young and foolish, and now am full of tears.

Down by the Salley Gardens
My love and I did meet
She passed the Salley Gardens
With little snow-white feet
She bid me take love easy
As the leaves grow on the tree
But I being young and foolish
With her would not agree
In a field by the river
My love and I did stand
And on my leaning shoulder
She laid her snow-white hand
She bid me take life easy
As the grass grows on the weirs
But I was young and foolish
And now am full of tears
Down by the Salley Gardens
My love and I did meet
She passed the Salley Gardens
With little snow-white feet
She bid me take love easy
As the leaves grow on the tree
But I being young and foolish
With her would not agree
But I was young and foolish
And now am full of tears

Mother Machree

There’s a spot in my heart
which no colleen may own;
There’s a depth in my soul
never sounded or known;
There’s a place in my memory
my life that you fill;
No other can take it
no one ever will;
Every sorrow or care
in the dear days gone by;
Was made bright by the light
of the smile in your eye;
Like a candle that’s set
in a window at night;
Your fond love has cheered me
and guided me right;
Sure I love the dear silver
that shines in your hair;
And the brow that’s all furrowed
and wrinkled with care;
I kiss the dear fingers
so toil warm for me;
Oh! God bless you and
keep you, mother machree!
