Dick is unhappy. He doesn't like ( )life

第一题的后半句怎么分析谢谢!还有就是第2题为什么过去式麻烦说下感谢!

They have given the town the character it ( )today.

They = The Dutch 荷兰人 the subject 主词。

have given , the verb 动词,Present Perfect tense 现在完成式。

the town - indirect object 间接受词

the character - direct object 直接受词

it ,pronoun 代名词 = the town

They have given the town the character. ----- I
The town has the character today. ------ II

You can combine the two sentences above and make them one sentence like below.

They have given the town the character which it has today. ---- III

In sentence III, 'which' is a relative pronoun and it refers to the character.
And 'which' refers to the object -- the character, therefore the relative pronoun 'which' can be omitted.

Thus, the sentence becomes 'they have given the town the character it has today‘.

因为它是陈述一个事实,用现在简单式。 simple present

Don't use: to have been Ving or to be Ving...etc.

character n. - particular quality of a place 一个地方的特色。

They have given the town the character it has today.
荷兰人给了这个城镇今日的特有面貌。

He doesn't like married life.

'Married' 不是过去式。 它与时态 Tense 无关。 它是一个过去分词做形容词用。

Are you from Taiwan?

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Note: 本人已在海外生活了数十载。你放心使用吧。如有任何问题,可补而述之。

第一句中,你这么看会不会理解一些?
They have given the town the character that it has today.
他们给了这个城镇现在这个样子。
宾语从句,that 省略了

Dick is unhappy.Dick 现在不开心
He doesn't like xxx 表示他一直不太喜欢
married life. married 是marry 结婚唯一的形容词。 所以表示结婚的,只能用married,而没有marrying。。

第一题:后半句意思是他们给城市带了了沿用至今的语言,这里讲的是客观事实,用现在时,表状态。所以用has
第二题:过去分词做定语,表示Dick的“婚后”生活
