This thesis aims to deal with several important problems on computer software legal protection by studying the internal characteristics and the hisotry of software legal protection. It also analyse the present protecting mode,weighs its pros and cons, and a better mode--independent protecting mode which may appear in the forseeable future,in order that computer software and computer technology could play a more important rule in our process to socialism.
