模型制作是现代工业设计中及其重要的内容之一，其使用材料多种多样，加工方法也是变化成千。根据电热原理制成的电热切割工具可以方便快捷地对吹塑板，泡沫塑料板，聚乙稀薄膜等多种材料进行切割，其切割质量明显好于用刀具进行机械切割的效果。本设计就是要运用电热原理和各种机械结构，通过其产生的各种运动，达到电阻丝对泡沫塑料进行有规律的精确切割的目的。并且在设计工作完成后还要完成制造，并进行试切加工总结优缺点，改进后并制作第二台。
