Nottingham is traditionally one of the most popular universities for undergraduate applications, although this year they were down by 14.2%, in line with the national trend. The university offers great facilities and a strong academic record. Its main campuses are only ten minutes away from Nottingham's historic city centre. Popular with overseas students, Nottingham has also established new campuses have been established overseas in Malaysia and China. The Students' Union is one of the largest and most active in the UK, with over 200 societies, sports clubs, student-run services, associations and a variety of social events on offer. Nottingham boasts an excellent graduate employment record and careers service. It is one of the most popular universities amongst recruiters nationally.
Fees
£3,000 a year.
Bursaries
£1,000 a year will be provided to everyone with family income up to £32,000, then on a sliding scale down to £250 for students from families with an income of £41,500 or less. A small number of students meeting specific criteria may receive a further £3,000 a year. Scholarships of £1,000 a year for eligible local students. A number of academic schools within the university will also be making scholarships available to students.
Accommodation
Guaranteed for eligible first years; contact accommodation services for exact details. In 2003/4 weekly prices ranged from £77 (double) to £115 (en suite single) for a room in catered halls of residence and started at around £50 for a standard room in a self-catering flat. Accommodation fees for 2005/6 ranged from approximately £2,546 to £4,294 a year, depending on the type of accommodation.
