为什么第一句中用V+ing形式？
第二句只用原型？

see的句型有两种，see sb do sth 和see sb doing sth，前者是看见某人做了某事（强调一整个过程），后者是看到某人正在做某事（强调此刻或者某阶段存在的动作，至于这个动作有没有持续下去或者完成是没有涉及的）。staying at home是做mothers的后置定语，用来进一步说明宾语的状态，这和playing on the beach是同样的用法。第二句就涉及句型help sb（to）do sth，只是习惯就把通省略了。
至于后置定语，可以是形容词，形容词组，动词不定式，动词ing形式等等成分。建议你详细看一下后置定语的语法书吧

see是感官动词，一次性看到的后加Ving,经常性看到的后加V原形。第二句中help有固定句式：help sb do sth=help sb to do sth.最后are表正在进行中，所以要加Ving.
