so……that和such……that的意思均为"如此……以致……"，都用来引导结果状语从句。

但二者用法不尽相同，现归纳如下：
1.so……that结构中的so为副词，后面跟形容词或副词;
such…that中的such为形容词，后面接名词(名词前可以有形容词或副词修饰)。如：
He became so angry that he conldn ，t speak.
他变得很生气，以致说不出话来。
It was such a fine day that we went out for a walk.
那是一个很晴朗的日子，我们出去散步。
2.当that前的名词有表示数量多少的many， much, few， little等修饰时，只能用so ，不能用such 。
如：
There was so much noise outside that we couldn't hear the teacher.
外面噌杂声很大，以致我们不能听到老师的话。
He had so many falls that he was black and blue all over.
他跌了这么多的跤，以致全身青一块、紫一块的。
【注】若名词前的little解释为"小(的)"意思时，则仍用such ，而不能用SO.如：
It is such a little sheep that it can't run fast.
它是一只如此小的绵羊，以致于它跑不快。
3.当that前是单数可数名词且该名词前面有形容词修饰时，so与such可以互换，即：so + adj. + a/an + n. = such + a/an + adj. + n.。
如：
She is so good a teacher that we all love her. = She is such a good teacher that we all love her.
她是一位好老师，我们都爱她。
4.当that前是不可数名词或复数可数名词时，则必须用such，不能用so来代替.如：
It was such fine weather that they all went swimming.
那是个好天气，他们都去游泳了 。
They are such nice apples that we would like to eat them.
它们是如此好的苹果，以致我们想吃它们。

so（...) that 和such (...) that 的区别就是:
1. so是个副词，用来修饰形容词或副词；such是个形容词，用来修饰名词，名词前有无 形容词都可以。例如：
She is so silly. 她 这么傻。
Tom works so hard. 汤姆工作那么努力。
He is such a（big）fool．他是个（大）傻瓜。
2. so +形容词/副词 +that...；so +形容词+a/an+单数的可数名词+that...； so +many / few (+复数名词)+that...; so + much / little(+不可数名词) +that...。例如：
He is so stupid that he can't boil an egg. 他太笨了，连鸡蛋都不会煮。
The tears were streaming so fast that she could not see. 她的眼泪哗哗地流下来，视线一下子就模糊了。

注意：so后面的little表示数量、程度。若little表示”小“，前面应该用such。例如：

3. such +a/an （+形容词）+单数的可数名词 +that...；such （+形容词）+复数名词/不可数名词 +that...。例如：

It's such a good chance that we must not miss it. 这是一个如此好的机会，我们不应该错过它。

4. so that...表示”以便“，”为了“，"以至于......",它既可以引导目的状语从句，也可以引导结果状语从句；so...that...表示“如此......以至于......"，是个结果状语从句。例如：
They may be able to help with childcare so that you can have a break. 他们可以帮忙照料孩子，这样你就可以歇一歇了。
You have to carry a bleeper so that they can call you in at any time. 你要随身带着寻呼机，以便他们随时呼你。
He ran so fast that I couldn't catch up with him. 他跑得那么快，我赶不上他。
5. such(...) that...表示”如此(......)以至于......",它引导结果状语从句。例如：
She is such a good teacher that all of us love and respect her. 她是一位很好的老师，我们都敬爱她。
They are such interesting books that I want to read them once more. 这些书非常有趣，我想再读一遍。
It was such bad weather that I had to stay at home. 天气太坏，以致我不得不呆在家。

意思相同，但用法不同。如：so…that这一结构中，so后边可加形容词或副词，而such后边要用名词（这个名词前面可以带形容词，也可以不带）。因此，such…that的句型结构可分以下三种：
1)such＋a(an)＋adj.＋单数可数名词＋that…clause
She is such asmart girl that we all like her.
她非常聪明，我们都非常喜欢她。
She was such an honest girl that she was praised by the teacher.
她非常诚实，因而受到了老师的表扬。
2)such＋adj.＋复数可数名词＋that…clause
They are such interesting books that we want to read them once again.

3)such＋adj.＋不可数名词＋that…clause
She has made such great progress that her teacher is pleased with her.
她进步得很快，老师对她感到很满意。
注意：如果such后边的名词前由many、much、few、little等词所修饰的话，则不用
such而用so。例如：

She had so much education that she was fit for this job.
她所受教育很多，适合做这个工作。
