离职是无论什么原因最终和单位解除劳动关系，而解雇是属于单位单方面解除和员工之间的劳动关系。
离职
1) I just quit my Job!
我刚刚辞去我的工作！
2) Walk out of a job 离职
Example : I walked out of my job, now what happens?
3) Resign 辞职；辞去（某职务）.
Meaning : To officially tell somebody that you are leaving your job, an organization, etc.
Example : He resigned his position as chairman of the commission.

4) Take voluntary redundancy 采取自愿离开. (Take VR, 公司通常会给 Severance package遣散费)
Meaning : Usually due to downsizing or restructuring situations.
Example : She was asked to take voluntary redundancy from a job she adored.

5) Give notice 通知. (离职通知, 通常是两个星期前提出)
Meaning : Terminate the employment of.
Example : I've given my company notice to quit.

解雇

Meaning : To dismiss somebody from a job.
Example : One of the workmen was sacked for stealing/ drunkenness.

Meaning : To officially remove somebody from their job
Example : If you are late again, you will be dismissed.

Meaning : Of a person without a job because there is no more work available for you in a company.
Example : We have make some staff redundant to reduce overman.

Meaning : Used to tell somebody to stop doing something .
Example : She was laid off together with hundreds of other workers when the company downsized.
