At two p.m of May 1st, two firefighters sacrificed themselves when putting out a fire to save people and property in a high-storey residential building on Longwu Road, Xuhui District, Shanghai Municipality.
A jounalist has leanrt from Shanghai Fire Stations that both of the firefighters were exposed to flashover and heat waves and fell off the 13th floor and were found dead in spite of emergent treatment at the hospital. They are Qian Lingyun, born in 1991 and Liujie, born in 1994 respectively and both were enlisted in December, 2012 and had police rank of Private, First Class.
However, in additon to the above-mention incident in Shanghai, many more "death of firefighters" have been reported in other cities in recent years. In memory of the deseased, many more people are trying to figure out whether or not a densely-pupulated metropolis with tall buildings serve as a hotbed of a highly risky fire. An insider acknowledgeed on the condition of anonymity that the taller building may make it more difficult for the firefighters to proceed with their work.
