一般说 in the back of,在。。。后面。这里可以是在某物的后部，也可以是在某物之后。
A truck appeared in the back of them.
他们背后出现了一辆卡车。
He is in the back of the classroom.
他在教室的后部。
behind只能用来表达在什么的后面，不能表达“在某物的后面一部分”。
the boy is behind the door,男孩在门后 。
