Hi, I'm New York Times reporter Tom Brown.
On March 3, 2011, a massive earthquake occurred in Japan. This is the biggest earthquake in Japan's history since World War II, and caused a tsunami that led to thousands of injuries and tens of thousands of disappearances. Furthermore, the Japanese are also suffering from the impacts of nuclear radiation. This great tragedy has thrown light upon the real kindness of human nature, as Japan received aid from many countries across the world, including China. Although the earthquake caused tremendous economic losses for Japan, the Japanese people are determined to rise up from adversity, working harder to rebuild their homes.
