一：含义解释
at last 英 [æt lɑːst] 美 [æt læst] 最后;终于
in the end 英 [ɪn ðə end] 美 [ɪn ðə end] 最后，最终;终于;到头来;结果
相同点：两者都可以表示"最后"。
不同点：at last是指终于，总算，强调的是过程，表示过程中花了很多时间去等待或努力，才达到结果。in the end则是强调客观的结果，表示在最后.....的结果。
二：用法区分
at last只能指时间位置，而不能指时间顺序，在语义上指经过，周折，等待，耽搁后的“最后，终于”得到所期待的结果。常常带有较浓厚的感情色彩。at last也可用来表示“等候或耽误了很多时间之后才……”，语气比较强烈。
in the end放在句首或句末，表示“经过许多变化、困难或捉摸不定的情况之后，某事才发生”，有时可与finally互相换用，其反义词是in the beginning，但in the end不能置于动词前。
