英语语法问题 ：单复数，单三形式

这里，never 后cease 用单三形式对吗？ 否定句后不是原型吗？

Barack Obama being elected as the president has reflected that there are now no public areas still labeled "whites only" in the US.
there are now no public areas 中觉得用there is now no public areas 合适些，对吗？

第一个问题：不是never后面就跟动词单三形式，这得看主语是否为第三人称
很明显，the US做主语，为第三人称单数，谓语当然要用单三ceases.
不是否定句后就原型，你们老师这样讲的吗？还是自学成才的？

第二个问题：当然是 there are 正确，areas，可数名词复数，谓语用are, 不要看到no就以为是单数。要看主语可不可数。
例如：There is no water here. （water不可数，谓语单数is)
There are no flowers in the garden. （ flowers可数且复数，谓语复数are)

明白？

对   应为这里没有用助动词  do、does 之后采用原形   never 只是一个副词 因此这里 的句子的主语是the US  是第三人称单数  

主谓一致中  支持 数的一致  后面是复数  谓语用复数是对的

如果两个都为不可数名词 但只的是一种事物则用单数，如果不是同一种事物则用复数动词。
