之所以出现 in on的问题，是in which 在句子中表示的意思，为了方便理解老师会告诉你，in which=where . on which=when ,其实这样理解没有错。

第一句： 先行词是 two buildings 句中which指代 的就是two buildings ，并且在 in which nineteen people had been sleeping这个从句中做宾语，不难发现这个从句的谓语是sleeping 。我们不能说sleeping two buildings,而应该说sleeping in two buildings,所以就出现了in ,这句本来应该是这样的The frightened skiers rushed to where the noise had come from and found that part of the hillside about the village had dropped down onto two buildings which nineteen people had been sleeping in. 为了符合英语表达所以 in 提到关系代词 which之前。
