说实话，查完了词典，看完了这么多例句，我还是说服不了自己，为什么说it is good manners to do sth. 是的，这个it is不能改为they are ,因为it是形式主语，真正的主语是不定式to do sth. 是单数的概念，但是说manners 是复数名词，怎么会有it is +复数名词的结构呢？这也是我一直有的疑问。
只不过说多了，就习惯了。后来再也不去想这个问题了。语言，就是一个约定俗成的东西，语法是用来解释它的。作为学生，记住就行了。如何自圆其说，那是语法学家的事情。
楼主的问题，我改回来了。主谓宾，主语是单数，宾语是复数，这不奇怪的。
If someone has good manners, they are polite and observe social customs. If someone has bad manners, they are impolite and do not observe these customs.
