《I love you, dad》is one of series of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood. The story is about Daniel, Daniel is making something for Dad. Because making something is one way to say I love you.
Fathers seldom say I love you to their kids in the real life in China. Although they are really hardworking fathers , they don’t like to share their emotions with the family. In this story, Dad responded to Daniel gently. For instance, Daniel baked a cake for Dad, but the cake got smushed, Dad still loved it, because it was from Daniel. Daniel made a picture for Dad, and Dad hung it up because it was a special present from Daniel. (I remembered, Simon had made a perfume satchel for his Daddy on Father’s Day. And Daddy said thank you to Simon and hung it up in his car. )At the end of the story , Dad said “ you are so special to me.”to Daniel. I think children will get the idea of how much their daddy always loves them. Encourage children to say I love you to their daddy frequently.
I could make up a song to say I love you.
And I would sing right along, because I love you, I care.
