体育中心坐落在风光秀美的孔目江畔湿地公园旁，占地494亩，总建筑面积66500平方米，总投资规模3.5亿元。根据建设项目功能性质不同，体育中心由两大部分组成，一是场馆区由四场四馆组成，即体育场、游泳场、室外运动场、室外网球场、游泳馆、体育馆、训练馆、网球馆；二是体育公园区，布置在体育中心的西北角，用地面积约100亩。
